Simone Chartres is a registered Psychologist with the PBA and has a Masters in Clinical Psychology (Charles Sturt University). Mrs Chartres has previously worked in schools, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Prior to commencing at SCPC, Mrs Chartres led group and individual therapy at St Vincent’s Young Adult Mental Health Unit (USPACE), Manly Drug Education and Counselling Centre (MDECC), and facilitated early intervention programs in high schools. Mrs Chartres has also conducted research on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) with Professor Rocco Crino examining the impact of OCD on family members. Mrs Chartres has worked with adolescents and families for many years and has clinical experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance use disorders and eating disorders. She has received specialised training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and is passionate about assisting families, young people and adults who are experiencing difficulties at home, school, work or in their personal lives.
